12th January 2013 Week 1 Weigh in results….
Da da da daaaummm! The day has finally arrived where the scales can perhaps be my friend not my enemy. The results are finally here friends. Okay start weight 105.1kg, today’s weight at the end of week one is …… 102.8kg. That is a loss of 2.3kg since the start of this blog. YAY! Sure it’s only the beginning but I am very excited, I just know the week’s to come will bring me such happiness! I am looking at this journey overall to eat healthy rather than count calories and starve myself to lose kilos in one week. That is just not realistic and dangerous and can lead to obsessive behaviour. So any losses is a bonus. If one is to continue to cut out refined sugar, reduce fructose consumption and only eat whole foods when hungry and STOP when satisfied, I dont see how this can fail.
For the first time in a long time I have a smile on my face, a confident step in my strut and I just feel damn happier in general. Part is cause of the elimination of toxic foods which therefore has a postive effect in my digestive system therefore my mental health will be improved. When our tummys are happy, the rest will follow. My skin is very clear, I dont have any dryness or itchyness. My digestion has improved dramatically. When I was on a “low fat” high carb diet I was always counting down to my next meal, always hungry every three hours and couldnt go to the bathroom for days. How is this healthy? Just adding that extra tablespoon of good fat in place of that dry slice of wheat bread can make a world of difference. Now I dont feel hungry, fasting is common and when I do eat I only eat when satisfied and I cook a healthy mix of protein, fat and veggies. I dont feel the need to snack, which is just fantastic. This feeling is’nt forced in any way. I just dont feel the need to go searching for sugary treats. I would describe this sensation like the “sweet” switch being turned off. The feeling is incredible like a chain being broken. It feels so good to be free and not be gripped into a binge eating attack. I have not had any inclination to go off the rails since I have started this challenge.
Today I swam four hundred metres in the pools which is seventy metres more than last attempt. Ha ha! this time it felt easier, I was alot quicker and my breaks were less frequent. I dont ever recall swimming more than fifty metres EVER in my entire life, until I started swimming this week for the first time in over fifteen years. I aim to add an extra fifty metres to my swimming time so eventually I would love to swim two kilometres in one session. Perfect exercise to tone these chubby arms and get some toning and muscle happening!
Have had a brilliant day seeing my friends at dinner, another friend’s birthday plus just shopping, chilling and gettting hair extensions plus all the other shit that women have to do to look pretty. ha ha!!
I want to try out a Paleomg recipe for Pumpkin Bread French Toast cause I get a bit sick of eggs, mushrooms etc for breakfast.
Do you have any favourite low carb breakfasts or any to go to recipes when you get bored? Please share your recipes below in comments. Thankyou for reading! Till next time.
